A hunting guide was on his way to camp leading a train of mules. On the way to camp they came across a herd of elk. They preceded to tie up the mules and go after the elk, in the process the lead rope got hung up on the guide's saddle bag flipping it over, as they went off, the contents were dumped into the snow. Upon returning they looked for the pistol but the snow was too deep. The next spring he went back to the area and found the pistol. The guide had it reworked and to the best of the ability the rust removed. The pistol was originally blued but after the wire brushing and polishing it looked nickel, but exposed to moisture it rust quickly.

The pistol was refinished with DuraCoat's Titanium, and satin clear.We bought this gun to use as a demo of before and after, and refinished only one side to show the results.
